InsightsOut research

What is AI change doing to people and work?

We ask people who register for InsightsOut workshops a few short questions. Then we read the answers against published research and publish what holds up — with the method, the version, and what changed.

What we're finding

Four things that keep showing up.

These are the patterns that keep showing up. The papers explain the method and the limits.

Research papers

Three living papers. One dataset.

Each paper shows its version, method, and changelog. PDFs are versioned for citation.

Working Through AI Change

What founders, managers, and professionals tell us before anyone surveys them

A living research paper on the human side of AI-driven change, built from InsightsOut workshop registrations and read against Gallup, Microsoft, MIT SMR, SHRM, and Anthropic.

From Overwhelm to Clarity

The founder side of AI-driven change

An early-stage room where money and customers come first, overwhelm is pace and fragmentation rather than hours, fear goes mostly unnamed, and what people quietly want is a place to think with peers.

When Your Role Starts Changing

What people navigating AI-driven role change say about identity, fear, and what they want next

Where role change is felt, who names fear and who doesn't, why people ask for a map rather than a course, and what kind of support they actually want.

How we do research

Small questions. Careful claims.

Full method, limits, and what we won't publish: methodology →

  1. Ask at registration. Three short questions when someone signs up for a workshop: the challenge, how AI is changing their work, what they want to leave with.
  2. Code the answers. Free text is themed by hand with a conservative mapping across events; role and segment are kept where captured.
  3. Cross-check. Every claim is read against published research and marked as consistent, extending, or in tension.
  4. Publish with a version. Method, limits, changelog, and a versioned PDF — updated as new rooms land. Individual answers are never published.
